Luxury fashion house Gucci and Italian international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo have collaborated to drive transition of supply chain towards sustainable and inclusive practices. The agreement will allow SMEs within Gucci’s supply chain to access ad hoc financing lines introduced by Intesa Sanpaolo with the S-Loan formula and inspired by ESG indicators.

Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are at the top, educating 41 per cent, 35 per cent and 21 per cent of consumers about brands respectively, according to a recent survey conducted by The NPD Group. When asked what platforms converted advertising and other content into actual purchases, 51 per cent of respondents said Facebook and Instagram content resulted in buying products.
The company recently surveyed consumers to determine how they learn about or discover fashion brands and retailers.

Carrington Textiles, a UK-based leader in workwear fabric manufacturing, has introduced sustainable fabrics Hawksbill and Orca on the occasion of its 130th anniversary. Due to be launched in the coming months, the new fabrics incorporate CiCLO technology, a sustainable ingredient, which is combined with polyester at the beginning of the fibre making process.
The new fabrics are part of the textile manufacturer’s Balance Range of sustainable fabrics.

UK-based fashion designer Matty Bovan has won the 2021 International Woolmark Prize as well as the Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation. Bovan joined fellow UK designer Edward Crutchley - who won the double back in 2019 - after a panel of industry heavyweights selected him the winner during a special virtual event held earlier this month.

talian luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna Group has strengthened its luxury textile division with the acquisition of the majority stake in Tessitura Ubertino, a company based in Biella, Italy that specialises in high-end fabrics for women such as tweeds and jacquards. As part of the deal, Zegna has bought 60 per cent stake in the company.

Fashion for Good has launched the Sorting for Circularity Project to drive textile recycling by conducting a comprehensive textile waste analysis using accurate, innovative Near Infrared (NIR) technology, while also mapping textile recycler’s capabilities. The research will lead to an open digital platform to match textile waste from sorters with recyclers.
