H&M & HKRITA launch project for handling textile waste in Cambodia

The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel Limited (HKRITA) and Sweden’s H&M Foundation have launched an ambitious project to address textile waste in Cambodia. It is led by Green Machine, the world’s first technology that can recycle blend textiles at scale, which will contribute to a better future for people of Cambodia and the planet.

British customers prefer vegan-verified clothes & shoes: Report

Over 95 per cent of British shoppers would welcome more vegan-verified fashion with almost half (48 per cent) stating they want more vegan-verified items across all fashion categories, according to a recent survey. Over 35 per cent want to see more vegan options for items like jackets and boots and 32 per cent would like more vegan-friendly leather bags and backpacks.

Interfiliere Shanghai 2021 to host over 180 exhibitors on Sep 29-30

The 17th Interfiliere, slated to take place at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre in China from Sep 29-30, will host over 180 exhibitors engaged in fabric, fibre, lace, embroidery, textile design, fashion trends, OEM or ODM manufacturing, textile accessories or machinery or technologies. The gross exhibition area will be over 12,000 square meters.

US’ Stars Design Group acquires influencer clothing brand INSPR

Stars Design Group, an American apparel design and manufacturing company, has announced the acquisition of New York-based INSPR, an apparel company producing limited edition collections from its community of influencers. INSPR will re-launch in the fall of 2021 with new limited edition influencer collections that will be sold through its website.

Luxury fashion house Gucci and Italian international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo have collaborated to drive transition of supply chain towards sustainable and inclusive practices. The agreement will allow SMEs within Gucci’s supply chain to access ad hoc financing lines introduced by Intesa Sanpaolo with the S-Loan formula and inspired by ESG indicators.
