More policy measures to expand domestic demand are needed to strengthen China's economic recovery that gained momentum in December as signs of souring exports and employment situation emerge, according to experts. Hugo Boss will exclusively source mulesing-free wool for its pure wool suits from 2025. By 2030, the company aims to stop the usage of mulesed wool for its entire product range to become verified free of it. The company has joined 35 other international brands including Puma, Adidas and Calvin Klein who have pledged to stop using this wool.

UK university finds natural solution for fabric fire safety problem

The University of Huddersfield has collaborated with UK textiles firm Camira to investigate natural solutions to produce fire resistant fabrics with a more sustainable manufacturing process. Collaborating with Future Fashion Factory, the company is moving towards a new finish that meets the same performance standards with a much smaller environmental impact.

The finish reduces water, energy and chemical usage for more efficient and sustainable manufacturing, according to a press release from the university.

'Made in the UK, Sold to the World' plan to boost UK exports to £1 trn
