Burberry is continuing to support creative communities and promote a circular economy by donating once more to the ReBurberry Fabric programme in partnership with the British Fashion Council (BFC). Launched in 2020 with BFC, the programme provides donations of leftover fabrics to fashion students, upcycling surplus fabric and saving it from going to waste.

British luxury fashion house Burberry has introduced a virtual handbag collection on online gaming platform Roblox. The project is in collaboration with Builder_Boy, one of Roblox community’s digital fashion designers. Inspired from the brand’s classic Lola bag, the exclusive limited-edition Lola range comprises five handbags in experimental designs.

India, China dominating suppliers of apparel, home textiles to Amazon

Global multi-brand e-retailer Amazon is heavily dependent on two Asian major economies—India and China—for apparel and home textiles. The two countries together account for more than 54 per cent of the total 353 suppliers of apparel to Amazon. Likewise, in home textiles more than half of the suppliers ae from India, while over quarter are from China.

French fashion house Louis Vuitton is the first luxury brand to reach the global Top 10 in Kantar BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands 2022 ranking, reflecting the growth of the luxury market worldwide and in China in particular. Louis Vuitton experienced 64 per cent growth in brand value this year and is the first European brand to reach the Top 10 since 2010.

Sewing industry to converge at JIAM 2022 OSAKA in Japan

US' NCSU's researchers capture CO2 using textile filter

Researchers from US-based North Carolina State University (NCSU) have found they could filter carbon dioxide (CO2) from air and gas mixtures at promising rates using a proposed new textile-based filter that combines cotton fabric and an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase – one of nature’s tools for speeding chemical reactions.

In addition to testing the filters’ carbon capture rates, they also tested how well the filter would work after five cycles of washing, drying and storing. They found it could maintain a high level of performance.
