The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) is leading an official textile delegation to ITMA ASIA+CITME 2025, Singapore — the premier exposition being held from October 28-31 showcasing the latest in textile machinery, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing technologies.
The delegation includes noted textile entrepreneurs and industry leaders, representing India’s growing prowess in sustainable and smart textile manufacturing.
The visit, which would see the Indian delegates interact with some of the most innovative textile companies worldwide, aims to strengthen India’s engagement with global technology leaders, explore investment and collaboration opportunities, and accelerate the modernization of the Indian textile value chain. CITI has already organized various association level meetings.
As part of the India engagement with ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, Kansal would also be delivering a special address on “Accelerating Green Transition” at the ITMA Sustainability Forum on October 30, CITI said in a release.
Incidentally, CITI has been working closely with key stakeholders to create a robust sustainability ecosystem for the textile sector in India. As part of its capacity building efforts, CITI has been working closely with Fair Wear Foundation in holding ‘Cluster Connect’ workshops to prepare exporters for the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and to build supply chains that are sustainable, transparent, and ethically driven.
CITI and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) have also jointly launched a pivotal sustainability initiative – Improving Transparency for Sustainable Business (ITSB) – for the textile and apparel sector in India to ensure that textile and apparel companies are better equipped to meet global ESG norms and buyer expectations.
