AII is a strategic partner of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC). Its Clean by Design programme helps SAC members provide strategic suppliers with subsidised environmental engineering support.

The H&M Group, a Swedish multinational clothing-retail company, has introduced a new multi-brand paper packaging system that is reusable and recyclable. With online shopping increasing worldwide and with that plastic waste, H&M feels a need to find solutions for sustainable packaging. The aim of this new solution is to reduce the risk of creating that waste.

Amazon recently opened a custom clothing store, allowing US shoppers to buy T-shirts that conform to their specifications. In the ‘Made for You’ store, customers can submit details about weight, height and body type, and two photos through Amazon’s app or website. With eight colour options, one can pick how long he would like the T-shirt and sleeves to be.

Customers can choose between two cotton-based fabrics, the fit type, and crew or V-neck. Amazon can print the customer’s name on the label as well, according to US media reports.

Renewcell, a Swedish textile recycling innovator, and H&M have entered a multi-year partnership to replace virgin fibres with recycled textiles in fashion products. Building on the successful introduction of Circulose in the SS2020 Conscious Exclusive collection, H&M have committed to scale up the use of the material over the course of five years.

The agreement, which was reached in September 2020, is the first of its kind in the industry and marks a significant step forward in the development of a circular economy for fashion.

Uniqlo, a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer, has announced that it has successfully concluded its debut at the annual China International Import Expo (CIIE) held this year, from November 5-10, in Shanghai. CIEE is the world’s first import-themed national-level expo. The show features exhibitions of multiple countries and businesses.
